Quilling

This is one of my unwritten rules - when I have thing to do i find new ways of wasting time. New hobbies that is. Not that they're not beautiful - they are, but all the research time and trial and error time takes away from the time I should be spending working for my final college project, other small college projects as well as some personal ones. Then why do i do this? I'm wondering the same thing
Hope I can give this up till the summer so i can conentrate on important thins.
In any case, as the title states - this is my first try at quilling.
Quilling is basically a form of art which uses thin strips of paper (i used 3mm strips for most of the thing and 1cm for the daisies and the roses). Usually these strips are bought (suprisingly, they can be found in Romania as well, but they're kinda expensive). A special tool is used to roll them. But since I had neither the time nor the money to waste on this, I improvised: I got the strips from A4 colored paper cut using a ruler and cutter and I made the tool from a toothpick , making a whole into it (like this: [link] ). i also used some Fimo to make a handle. Not very pretty, but it works. Might redo it when I'll try my hand at this again.
These tries are just for fun so i just stuck them to some watercolor hot pressed paper which I hated. But generally these can make beautiful greeting cards and I am also planning to buy or make some card bokes and glue some.
But I'll stop dreaming now.
